Single or double hook # 2-6. Long shank  hook.

Flat + fine oval gold tinsel 

Purple, green and scarlet Berlin wool

Tan rooster hackle

Teal or widgeon

Bronce mallard

  • Flat + fine oval silver tinsel 
  • Purple, green and scarlet Berlin wool mixet
  • Black heron hackle
  • Bronce mallard

 


Tying instruction

 

 

Fix the hook in the vice

 

Tie in the fine oval tinsel

 

Tie in the hackle at the root end. Fix the thin oval tinsel on the opposite side and flat at the bottom

 

Bring the thread to the eye of the hook

 

Dub the thread with Berlin wool

 

The second layer of dubbing is made

 

Turn the tinsels

 

Turn the body hackle

 

Turn down the hackle fibres

 

Tie in the teal hackle at the tip

 

Double the hackle and make one to two turns

 

Tie in the wing parts

 

Finish the head

 

Varnish the head
